A Case of Thiopental-Induced Hemolytic Anemia After Open Heart Surgery.

We experienced a case of thiopental-induced hemolytic anemia with impairment of renal function after open heart surgery. The diagnosis was suggested by clinical features, CBC, urinalysis, transfusion reaction study and chemistry, and finally established by immunohematologic study. We detected antibody against thiopental in the patient’s serum (end-titer:1:16). The review of literature was made briefly.

Authors experienced a case of Hunter syndrome in a 5 year old girl who was admitted to Pediatric Department of Dong-San Hospital, Keimyung University for the evaluation of short stature and mental retardation. A Case of Takayasu's Arteritis.

A case of Takayasu's arteritis, type I in a 10 years old girl was reported. The diagnosis was confirmed by aortography which showed occlusion of the right and left subclavian artery, left carotid artery and markedly stenosed origin site of right common carotid arrery. No abnormal findings on the abdominal aorta was demonstrated. A brief review of literatures was made.

Clinical study was done on 6,588 liveborn infants and 2,644 high risk infants who were born in WMBH during the period of 2 years from June 1980 to May 1982.
